17th Congress of the European Federation of Sexology
Sexuality in health and disease: Sexual health, rights and wellbeing
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
On behalf of the Italian Center of Sexology (CIS) I am glad and honored to invite you to XVII EFS Congress in Bologna -Italy; the duration of the Congress will be from 23rd to 25th May 2024. Since 1959, the Italian Center of Sexology has been a reference point for scientific research and professional training in an interdisciplinary perspective for an anthropology of sexuality, it is the oldest sexology society in Italy.
Bologna is a historical and important University venue, it is the Capital of Emilia-Romagna region, one of the Top 50 wealthiest and most developed regions in EU; it’s possible to experience the Academic atmosphere – Seat of the World’s oldest university founded in 1088; it is also the oldest university in continuous operation, as well as one of the leading academic institutions in Italy and Europe. In the world Top 100 in all five disciplinary macro-areas: humanities, social, medical, technological and natural sciences – It is the home of the top-quality health, science and education institutions & world-famous manufactures with great tradition: Lamborghini, Ferrari, Maserati, Pagani, Ducati. Very easy to get to, compact, walkable and flexible city, home of the best food in Italy – the real essence of ‘Made in Italy’ brand. UNESCO city of Music with the largest medieval city area in the World, ancient porticoes, and towers.
The Congress will be an extraordinary occasion to meet all professionals engaged in Sexology in Europe, we wish it would be possible to have multicultural and interdisciplinary scientific exchange to promote culture, education, research and treatment to permit to reach a person’s sexual and life wellbeing.
I am, personally, very happy to welcome European and Italian colleagues of mine in Bologna, I am sure it’ll be an important event.
On behalf of the European Federation of Sexology( EFS), it is a great pleasure and honor for me to invite and welcome you to the 17th EFS Congress that will be held in Bologna-Italy on 23-25 May 2024.
The EFS& CIS( Italian Center of Sexology) will no doubt deliver a high-quality congress which hopefully will turn out to be a memorable experience both scientifically and socially. As we believe that the scientific success of a congress depends on the contributions of the delegates, we hope that many of you will be able to get actively involved in this congress.
The programme will cover a wide range of new clinical and research topics including challenges faced regarding sexual health-sexual well-being and sexual problems. Sexual health and sexual rights are no longer luxuries but essentials and necessities to live a life with dignity. The congress theme reflects the importance of human sexology as a whole both in good and difficult times and both in body and mind.
The interdisciplinary and international nature of the congress will no doubt enhance professional and social networking and exchange of information and knowledge from diverse communities and cultures. Our host will be the Italian Center of Sexology (CIS). We have no doubt that you will enjoy the Italian hospitality in the beautiful and historic city of Bologna which offers history, culture and beauty.
