Giusy Ignarra
Doctor in Social Service Science by the University of Siena
Born in 1998 (Monfalcone-GO), Giusy grew up in Tuscany and completed her studies in Grosseto and Siena. In December 2020, she graduated in Social Service Sciences at the University of Siena, with the first national research on the issues of Sexuality and Affectivity of people with disabilities and, in particular, society’s points of view on this subject. In December 2023, she graduated in the master’s degree course in “Social Sustainability and Welfare Management”, at the University of Siena, with her thesis “How I would like to talk about love: an exploratory investigation on the themes of affectivity and sexuality of people with disabilities and the design of an affective-sexual assistance service for people with disabilities and their caregivers in the Grosseto area” in which the point of view of people with disabilities and their caregivers in the themes of sexuality and affectivity is analysed. The whole thesis shows some theoretical solutions and projects to improve the assistance for caregivers, people with disabilities and the related social services.
