Marianne Greil-Soyka received her medical degree from Leopold Franzens University (Austria). While in private practice for general sexual medicine she built and guided Austrian courses in sexual medicine. In 2008, she was a founding member and the first chairwomen of the Academy of Sexual Medicine (OEASM). In 2010, she designed an advanced sexual medicine training and education program, and a diploma for Austrian doctors, approved by the Austrian Medical Association (ÖÄK-Certificate and ÖÄK-Diploma in Sexual Medicine). In 2018, she initiated the COST-Action European Sexual Medicine Network (ESMN / www.esmn-cost.eu). The ESMN has since grown into a massive international network of scientists with a wide variety of specialties who are working together through shared research, professional and public educational programs, and more, to advance Sexual Medicine worldwide (https://www.esmn-cost.eu/). In 2023, she was appointed Austrian National Representative of the UNESCO Chair in Sexual Health and Human Rights.
