Jasmine Abdulcadir, is an obstetrician and gynecologist, trained in sexual medicine and vulva disease. She is adjunct physician, chief of the Gynecological and Obstetric Emergencies Department (ED) and responsible of the outpatient clinic for women and girls with female genital mutilation/cutting at the Department of the Woman, Child and Adolescent of Geneva University Hospitals, where she also runs a vulva clinic and is responsible for the care after sexual assault at the ObGyn ED. She is a researcher and a teacher at the Reproduction Unit of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Geneva (UNIGE), at the School of Health Vaud and in several national and international training courses. She is a member of the steering committee of the project “science, gender, identities” of UNIGE. She has worked as a consultant for WHO and is a consultant for the Swiss network against FGM/C and the Swiss Migration Secretariat. Member of the Swiss Society of Sexology as well as the ECSVD and the ESSM, she authored several scientific articles and chapters on reproductive and sexual health of women with FGM/C. She has contributed to the the WHO International Guidelines on FGM/C.
In 2018, for her clinical and scientific work, she was elevated to the rank of Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.
