Angela Caldarera, PhD, psychologist, psychotherapist, specialist in Health Psychology, works clinically as psychotherapist and does research at the Mental Health Service and within the outpatient Service for Gender Incongruence of ASL1 Imperiese, Sanremo, Italy. She is a research fellow at the Università degli Studi di Torino, within the Gender Identity Development Outpatient Clinic at the Regina Margherita Pediatric Hospital, Torino, Italy.
Full WPATH (World Professional Association for Transgender Health) and EPATH member. Member of the Italian Health Psychology Society (SIPSA). She is actively involved within the Italian Observatory on Gender Identity (ONIG), as member of the Board of Directors, Board Secretary and as member of the Work Group on Gender Incongruence in Developmental Age. Her research interests include (1) psychosocial factors associated with wellbeing of transgender and gender diverse youth; (2) clinical interventions aimed at promoting psychosocial and sexual health in gender diverse young people; and (3) parenting of gender diverse children and adolescents, with a focus on family dynamics and on support group interventions. She serves as peer reviewer for international and national journals.
